Southside and Newington
The total remaining for Southside Newington Community Grants Fund (CGF) in 2025/26 is £4999.57. The fund will open again in mid-August and the deadline for the next funding round will be in late September 2025. Please note that due the small amount left in the budget for Southside Newington, applications to this area are likely to be competitive and you may wish to consider applying again in March 2026 to increase the likelihood of getting a grant.

Awards made in 2025/26
Round 1
- Marchmont and Sciennes Community Council: Awarded £930 to install an external defibrillator in the Marchmont and Sciennes area.
- Southside Community Centre Association SCIO: Awarded £4,375 for the ‘Cost of Living Support Programme’ - a benefit check service (worker costs).
- Goodies SCIO: Awarded £2,590 for men's support groups to be run through Goodies SCIO, based at Southside Community Centre.
- Goodies SCIO: Awarded £1,944 as a contribution towards the Goodies cargo bike and trike food distribution initiative, for provision of training and equipment to volunteers.
- Edinburgh Rays Baseball Club: £935 for new baseball club equipment.
- Beetroots Collective CIC: £3,060 for workshops about Scottish folktales aimed at the local community, particularly the LGBTQ+ community and people from migrant and asylum seeker backgrounds.
- Summerhall Arts: Awarded £3,300 to provide vital equipment (e.g. laptops and software) for Summerhall Arts.
- Carlton Cricket Club Limited: Awarded £512 towards the cost of cricket coaching for children in local primary schools.
- Community Church Edinburgh: Awarded £3,342 for refreshing the Newington Toy Library, through the provision of new toys and other equipment.
- The Salisbury Centre: Awarded £2,500 for volunteer coordinator hours on a seeds and growing project in the community garden and seed library.
