The total remaining for Pentlands Community Grants Fund (CGF) in 2025/26 is £11,919.01. The fund will open again in mid-August and the deadline for the next funding round will be in late September 2025.

Awards made in 2025/26

Round 1

  • Strengthening Communities for Race Equality Scotland (SCOREscotland): Awarded £800 for expansion of community fridge activities, to include food growing.
  • Currie Rugby Football Club Ltd: Awarded £1,600 to invest in new equipment for high-quality training sessions that will help young players build confidence, teamwork, and resilience - both on and off the field.
  • Wester Hailes Community Trust: Awarded £4,950 to install rooftop solar panels on the Mobility Hub in Wester Hailes, generating renewable electricity, reducing carbon emissions and supporting an inclusive, community-led space for tools, bikes, and connection.
  • Pentlands Community Space: Awarded £2,426 to cover costs for an online security training programme for older people.
  • Youth Vision: Awarded £1,852 for Youth Vision’s summer programme of outdoor learning and fun.
  • 198th City of Edinburgh Guide Unit: Awarded £598 to purchase new lightweight tents, so that girls from 198th City of Edinburgh Guides can attend county camp.
  • Seagull Trust Cruises: Awarded £2,500 for a tour guide system that will provide audio description for blind and partially sighted people, while cruising on the Union Canal from Ratho.
  • Friends of Woodlands: Awarded £4,921 to provide a fit for purpose, safe and engaging outdoor space that fosters the growth and development of learners at Woodlands School.
  • Wester Hailes Growing Communities SCIO: Awarded £1,799 for installation of off-grid solar power at Calders Greenshoots Community Garden.
  • 114 Braid Scout Group: Awarded £2,000 to purchase new camping equipment for scouts of all ages.
  • Pentland Primary School Parent Council: Awarded £2,599 for a fully inclusive playground reading area that all pupils will have regular access to.
  • Friends of Hailes Quarry Park: Awarded £2,378 for park events and activities including a new covered structure, materials, volunteer expenses and room hire.
